PHILLIPS CANDIES

A legendary (yet insanely overlooked) candy shop in Seaside, Oregon. Did I mention it’s also my favorite candy shop ever?

MY TASK: Create a campaign that will get young parents visiting Seaside to view Phillips Candies as a fun, convenient, and crucial stop for the perfect family beach trip.

TRADITIONAL

Inspired by my favorite childhood boardgame, Candyland, I created a mailer to deliver to frequent Seaside-visiting households. Once you’re done playing in the sand, make the short walk to the shop.

NON-TRADITIONAL

Mailed maps aren’t enough. The next step? Sidewalk signs physically leading people from the beach to Phillips Candies. There will be three signs on South Promenade (.05 miles apart) and two signs on Broadway Street (.05 miles apart). The last sign will be at Phillips Candies. Sweet Victory!

SOCIAL/EVENT

Customers ordering at Phillips Candies can ask to “spin the candy wheel.” This is the spinner pictured on the left. When they spin it, it’ll land on a color. These colors correlate with candy labels in the store. Customers can pick any candy with a label that matches the color they land on and get one piece for free. If a customer lands on “Jackpot,” they can pick any candy.
